The 7th Traditional Fig Day Held in Our Department

The 7th Traditional Fig Day and the Undergraduate Graduation Project Poster Presentations for the 2024–2025 Academic Year, organized by the Department of Food Engineering, were successfully and enthusiastically held on May 14, 2025, with the strong participation of industry stakeholders and faculty members.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our valued sponsors, Gabay Foreign Trade, Sütaş Dairy Products Inc., and @tatlikasigihisaronu, for their support and collaboration in making this event possible. Within the scope of the event, the poster presentations, where students introduced their graduation projects, attracted great interest. We also thank the industry representatives—Ali DUMAN, Hande KARAKAŞ, Fatma DEMİR, İbrahim Uğur TOPRAK, Hüseyin YILDIZ, Tuğçe SÖNMEZ ÇAKMAKÇI, İnci ÖZER, Ali ŞAHİN, Ayşen ER, Şüheda İŞBİLEN, Devran İŞÇİ, and Ümit BOY—for their participation and valuable support.

As a result of the evaluation of the poster presentations, the project titled “Production of Gluten-Free Soup Enriched with Sorghum Flour and Tomato Peel Waste and Determination of Its Quality Characteristics”, prepared by our students İbrahim KUZDAĞI and Şehrivan ÇİÇEK under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hilal ŞAHİN NADEEM, was awarded first place. We sincerely congratulate our faculty member and students for their outstanding achievement and wish them continued success.
