Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Yılmaz, a faculty member of our department, has been awarded the “Young Scientist of the Year 2024” within the scope of the Scientist of the Year Program conducted by the Science Heroes Association since 2011.
The award ceremony, held in Istanbul, was attended by rectors and academics from various universities, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Hilal Şahin Nadeem, jury members, families, and members of the press.
The program aims to support scientists under the age of 38 who contribute internationally to the fields of basic sciences and engineering and lead the development of these fields in our country. The awards were determined based on the evaluations of scientific juries appointed by three university rectorates. This year, a total of five young scientists were honored with the award. The achievement of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Mehmet Yılmaz has significantly contributed to increasing the visibility of our university’s and department’s research-oriented vision.
