Terms of Exchange and Transition Programs
In the transitions and changes between programmes, relevant object provisions belonging Academic and Exam Regulations of Adnan Menderes University Education Faculty are applied.
Qualification Awarded
The Bachelor's Degree in Computer Teaching (first cycle in Computer Teaching) is awarded to students who have succesfully completed all courses in the curriculum, including a 2-semester school training period.
Specific Admission Requirements
(1) In order for students to be accepted to the university, one of following conditions must be met: a) placed at the university by The Student Selection and Placement Board, b) recieved sufficient points for pre-acceptance and gained acceptance on successful completion of an aptitude examination, c) fulfilled the necessary conditions for verticle or horizontal transfer, d) fulfilled the necessary conditions for international student acceptance.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning
The principles for acceptance are: a) Horizontal transfers and transfers between Associate Degrees and Bachelor Degrees within Higher Education Institutions, Joint Honours Degrees and Major/ Minor Degrees are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of the Transfer of Credit Between Institutions. The commitees of the relevant academic units inform the Rectorate of the determined quotas at latest by June for the fall semester and at latest by December for the spring semester. b) Verticle transfers of graduates from Vocational Schools are carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of the Continuance to Bachelor Degrees of Associate Degree Graduates of Vocational Schools and the Open University published in official gazette dated 19/2/2002 with official number 24676. ? The principles for equivalency and credit transfer are: a) Students placed to an academic unit of the university by The Student Selection and Placement Board who have previously graduated or before completion of education at an Institute of Higher Education, have the right to apply to the relevant office of the Dean/ Director with a petiton stating the request to recieve equivalency along with a list of courses, their credits and course contents within the first two weeks of the academic calender. b) On application of equivalency for courses with similar course content, the decision on equivalency of a course/courses is taken by the relevant commitee on gaining a positive decision from the relevant academic member of staff and department/programme/division. The credit levels of courses for which equivelency is to be given is evaluated in terms of existing courses within the relevant academic unit. c) The mark gained by the student at the Institute of Higher Education in which the course was successfully completed is the mark which is accepted on equivalency. However, in order for the course to be counted towards equivalency, the mark gained must be at least sixty. ç) Marks given with the hundred-point scale in the Institute of Higher Education from which transfer is occurring are accepted without changes. Marks which are awarded with a co-efficient are determined in accordance with Article 25 of this Regulation based on the table of the comparision of the four-point scale and hundred-point scale prepared by the Senate. Marks given with a letter or degree are converted into the hundred-point system according to the approved document from the Institute of Higher Education from which the student has transferred. If this cannot be proved with documentation, the mark is determined as the mid point of the relevant grade according to Article 25 of this regulation d) If the level of credit to be given equivelency to the student’s department or programme exceeds 70% of the total credit required in one semester, the student can be transferred to a higher academic year or semester by the relevant academic committee on the approval of the Head of Department. The semesters/ academic years of students who are transferred to a higher semester for which they have gained equivalency are accepted as a part of their educational period. e)The evaluation of course equivalency is carried out according to clause (b) of this paragraph for students who register with the verticle or horizontal transfer system. f) Students who transfer with horizontal transfer are regarded as exempt from courses for which they have been awarded equivelency and the marks recieved for exempted courses from the Institute of Higher Education from which transfer occurred are shown on the transcript, However, these marks are not counted in the calculation of the academic average. g) For students who transfer with verticle transfer, all marks recieved from the Institute of Higher Education from which transfer occurred are shown on the transcript. However, these marks are not counted in the calculation of the academic average. ğ) In the evaluation of courses for which equivalcency has been applied for equivelency is not given at Bachelor degree level for courses taken at Associate degree level or the Open University and also at Associate degree level for courses previously taken at the Open University, except for courses in Article 5, paragraph 1, clause (ı) of Law numbered 2547, h) In the evaluation of requests for equivalency for students who wish to participate in a summer school programme of a different Institute of Higher Education, students must submit a petition stating the course wished to be taken which has been approved by the relevant Head of Division or Head of Department to the relevant Dean/ Director before the relevant course has begun.
Profile of The Programme
The program is designed to promote personal and professional growth through both education and computer. The first year of courses mainly consists of Turkish, mathematics, basic computer and educational courses to bring to knowledge level of students with different backgrounds to same level. In addition to this, the students must take school training in the first semester. The compulsory and elective courses offered in second, third and fourth years include physics, programming languages, operating systems and their use, database systems, multimedia systems, authoring language, development and evaluation of educational software, distance education, material development and instructional technologies, instructional materials in education, fundamentals of computer assisted instruction, instructional design, developments and learning, research methods, instructional methods, classroom management, guidance and diploma project. Students spend totally 2 semesters (7th and 8th) in different school as a trainee teacher.

Access to Further Studies
The graduates holding Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
(1) The evaluation of examinations and marks are determined in detail by academic units according to their education principles and in accordance with the principles stated below: a) Success at university is determined, according to the characteristics of the course, with written, oral, practical or written-oral-practical examinations. Studies such as placements, practicals, camps, workshops, seminars, theses, concerts, projects, drawings, homework and diploma studies are evaluated by the relevant academic unit. b) Semester examinations are carried out at the end of every semester, courses lasting for two semesters are evaluated at the end of the spring semester, repeat examinations are carried out on dates determined within the academic calender, summer school examinations are carried out on completion of summer school education. c) For every course, at least one mid-term examination is carried out for every semester and summer school course. However, courses which last for the whole academic year which are perfomanced-based may be exempt. ç) The relevant academic unit determines the principles and whether extra examinations are to be applied to students with an official reason for non-attendance of an original examination d) The arithmetic average of the mid-term examination of a course is the mark for the mid-term examination of that course. e) No more than two mid-term / end of semester / final / repeat / summer school examinations belonging to the same class on the same day are to be carried out. f) In cases of necessity, courses and examinations may be carried out on Saturdays and Sundays with the decision of the relevant academic unit and approval from the Rector. g) Mid-term examination results are to be announced within two weeks of the examination date. ğ) In order for a student to be admitted to an end of semster / final / repeat / summer school examination, the student must be registered on the course, have attended the necessary amount of classes and successfully completed the practices of that course. h) Students are required to enter end of semester / final / repeat / summer school examinations on the date determined in the academic calender. However, the relevant academic unit can apply an extra examination for students who are representing Turkey or the University at an event and who become injured during this event and proves his/her injury with a health report during the period of the event or the duration of his/her health report. ı) The degree to which the theoretical elements of a course which has both theoretical and practical elements affects the pass mark is determined by the relevant academic unit. In courses where theoretical and practical elements are separate or courses which have only a theoretical component, marks and success levels are evaluated as theoretical courses. i) End of semester/ final / repeat / summer school examination results are to be announced within the week following the examination date at latest. j) In cases where practical marks affect the pass mark of the course, the mark is determined by adding 40% of the mid-term mark or mid-term examinations average mark to 60% of the end of semester/ final / repeat / summer school examination mark. However, the students end of semester / final / repeat / summer school examination mark must be a minimum of 50 points out of a total of 100. k) In academic units where more than one mid-term examination is applied, exemption may be applied to an end of semester / final / summer school examination. l) In order to be considered as successful from a course after an end of semester / final / repeat / summer school examination, marks calculated as per clause (j) of this paragraph must be a minimum of 60. Students who are successful in a course cannot repeat the course or enter into an examination related to this course. m) Students who take summer school courses at a different Institute of Higher Education must obtain a pass mark of 60 from a total of 100. n) In the calculation of the mark of a repeated course, the mid-term mark of the period in which the course was repeated / mid-term examinations average is taken into consideration. o) Students who have one remaining non-practical or have completed the theoretical component of one course needed to fulfil the conditions for graduation can participate in an examination prepared for students who have one remaining course on a date stated by the relevent academic unit within one month after the completion of end of semester / final / repeat / summer school examinations, if they have attended the number of required lectures, from the end of semester /academic year to which this situation applies. Students who obtain a minimum of 60 points from a total of 100 are counted as successful without reference to the mid-term examination mark and will have fulfilled the required conditions for graduation. Students may enter this examination at the end of every semester without reference to the semester in which the course is taught. Failure or deficiencies in placement/camp practices in academic units with compulsory placements/camps are not taken into consideration in the caluclation of single-course examinations. Students who wish to enter a single-course examination must submit a petition within five working days of the announcement of the end of semester / final / repeat / summer school examinations. ö) The results of semester-end / final / repeat / summer school examinations must be entered into OBİS by the relevant academic staff member by the date determined in the academic calender and the examination results forms must be given to the relevant student affairs office. p) All documents related to examinations are kept for two years in the relevant academic unit. r) For students who have been determined to have cheated, attempted to have cheated or helped others to cheat, the relevant examination papers are analysed and the mark is determined as zero and a discplinary inquiry is carried out. s) Students can enter exemption examinations determined by the Senate. On exemption, the mark recieved in the exemption examination is counted as the mark for that course. However, a student who has gained exmption can be registered to this course with the aim of increasing their mark. In this case, the mark obtained in the exemption examination is disregareded. Marks and Evaluation ARTICLE 25 – (1) Marks are given out of one hundred. For marks which contain fractions, marks with marks of half and over are rounded up to the nearest whole mark, and those lower than half are rounded down to the nearest whole mark. Graduation Requirements
(1) In order for students to graduate, all courses and placements must have been successfully completed in the relevant eductional-teaching programme. (2) The date of graduation is determined as the work-day following the end of examinations. In academic units which require a placement, if the placement is carried out at the end of the final academic year, the date of graduation is determined by the work-day following the final day of placement.
Work Placement
The students have to do teacher training for two terms.
