The mission of the Department of Educational Sciences is to train experts and researchers in the fields of Curriculum and Instruction, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Educational Administration and to provide high quality scientific research and development activities and educational services required by the country's education system.
The vision of the Department of Educational Sciences is to be a leading department in the field of educational sciences; To train teachers and experts with leadership qualities, idealistic and high-level competencies required by the society, to produce research and development studies that will meet the changing and developing needs of Turkish education system, guide the change and transformation of the education system, and an education and research specialized in world standards is to be part.
The aims of the Department of Educational Sciences;
1. To provide teachers to improve the quality of education and that Turkey needs; To train teachers who have national and universal values R03;R03;and teaching profession knowledge and are competent in learning-teaching approaches and methods,
2. To train experts, researchers, managers, auditors in the field of educational sciences for the Ministry of National Education, other public institutions and organizations, the private sector and non-governmental organizations operating in the field of education,
3. To train academic staff for the relevant departments of universities in parallel with the increasing capacity requirement in higher education,
4. To improve the professional competencies of managers, supervisors, experts and teachers working in the Ministry of National Education and other public institutions and organizations, the private sector and non-governmental organizations operating in the field of education,
5. To carry out research and development studies that will guide the policies and practices in the direction of national interests and values in the development of Turkish education, and to develop cooperation and relations with stakeholders to ensure that the information produced directs policies and practices,
6. To develop cooperation, transparency, freedom of scientific thought, creativity and originality in the work of academic staff, based on the philosophy of lifelong learning.
The Department of Educational Sciences consists of four departments:
1) Department of Curriculum and Instruction,
2) Department of Educational Administration,
3) Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling and
4) Department of Measurement and Evaluation in Education
Out of the departments within the Department of Educational Sciences, only Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling accepts students at the undergraduate level. Departments of Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction accept graduate (master / doctorate) level students. In the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, academic studies are carried out on curriculum and contemporary teaching-learning approaches. The Department of Educational Administration studies on educational and school administration and the structure and functions of the school as a social institution. Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling provides education in the field of school guidance services and psychological counseling. In addition, Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling has accepted graduate students since 2020-2021 Fall Semester.
