What are the admission requirements for the Philosophy undergraduate programme?

Students who have graduated from at least high school or an equivalent educational institution, who get sufficient score for the philosophy department according to the score type of the philosophy department after the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) organised by ÖSYM, are eligible to study at Adü Philosophy department if they prefer. 

 

Is there a Foreign Language Prep in the Department of Philosophy?

No, there is not. There is no foreign language preparatory programme in our department.

 

Is it required to attend the classes in the Department of Philosophy?

Yes. In our department, 70% of attendance is compulsory. 

 

What are the  graduation requirements from the Department of Philosophy?

In order to graduate from the Department of Philosophy, students are expected to successfully complete 166 ECTS compulsory, 66 ECTS elective and 8 ECTS non-departmental elective courses. 

 

What kind of exchange programmes are available in the Department of Philosophy?

Are there minor and double major programmes in the Department of Philosophy?

Students enrolled in the Department of Philosophy can become double major students in the Department of Sociology and minor students in other departments if they meet the necessary requirements. What kind of job opportunities are there for graduates of the Department of Philosophy?

Graduates of the Department of Philosophy can work as philosophy teachers in secondary education institutions if they get their pedagogical formation. In addition, they can continue their postgraduate studies and do academic research, and by further developing the competencies and knowledge they have acquired, they can have the opportunity to work in various positions in departments related to education, culture and planning in  both private and public institutions.
