Mission and Vision

   MISSION

The Department of Philosophy of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences provides Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degrees in a modern academic setting with the mission of educating individuals who have critical thinking, interpretation and research skills, who are open to different perspectives and opinions, who have academic integrity together with ethical relationship values, who are concerned about protecting human rights, interested in contributing to both national and global culture, aware of social problems and who can act with ethical responsibility in the face of those problems.

VISION

The Department of Philosophy at Aydin Adnan Menderes University offers a four-year undergraduate program designed to educate individuals who not only have a -good command of philosophical literature, possess advanced critical thinking, comprehension, interpretation, and analytical skills but are also mindful of both social and global issues, together with  their ethical responsibilities and committed to ethical personal and relational values.

İn this respect, in addition to the courses that engage with fundamental philosophical texts, explore key concepts, and examine the main issues in the field, the curriculum includes courses that offers opportunities for developing distinguishing reflective and practical skills.
