General Information
In the Mathematics Department, educational activities began in the 1996-1997 academic year with a master's program taught by one associate professor and two assistant professors. In the first year, 10 courses (30 credits) offered by the relevant faculty members were made available to students continuing their postgraduate education.
As a result of studies conducted in response to intense demand from secondary education, a non-thesis master's program was launched in the 2000-2001 academic year.
It began at the undergraduate level in 2000-2001. Our department awarded its first graduates in the 2003-2004 academic year.
The doctoral program was launched in the 2009-2010 academic year. Our department started the 2011-2012 academic year with two professors, two associate professors, and eleven assistant professors.
As of the 2015-2016 academic year, our department continues to teach with 2 professors, 6 associate professors, and 7 assistant professors. The number of courses, which was ten in the first year, has reached seventy, and the total course credits have reached two hundred and thirty-three.
As of the 2022-2023 academic year, our department continues to teach with 4 professors, 12 doctoral faculty members, 1 teaching assistant, and 2 doctoral research assistants.
As of the 2025-2026 Academic Year, our department continues to teach with 4 professors, 3 associate professors, 12 doctoral faculty members, 1 teaching assistant, and 2 research assistant doctors.
History
The Thesis-Based Master's Program was launched in the 1996–1997 academic year. The Bachelor's Program and Non-Thesis Master's Program were launched in the 2000–2001 academic year. The Doctoral Program was launched in the 2009–2010 academic year.
Purpose
The main purpose of the Mathematics Department is to educate contemporary individuals who are inquisitive through reasoning, able to find solutions to problems they encounter, able to express their thoughts well, self-confident, and well-trained in their field.
Physical Infrastructure
Physical Space: Classes are held in the Faculty of Science classrooms. Students benefit from all social and cultural opportunities on campus.
Technical Infrastructure
There is a computer lab and a graduate classroom available for students to use.
