Department of Mathematics – Education and Teaching Policy

The policy of the Department of Mathematics is to educate individuals who are inquisitive, eager to learn, analytical, innovative, pioneering, entrepreneurial, and committed to human values, and who can take an active role in fundamental sciences as well as in the public sector and industry. At both undergraduate and graduate levels, the Department adopts a qualified education and teaching approach, aiming to continuously improve itself in line with contemporary developments, and to achieve national and international recognition and prestige. In accordance with the needs of the country and society, the Department aims to continuously enhance its infrastructure technologically in terms of educational tools and laboratory facilities. Moreover, providing education in line with the requirements of the modern age through a strong academic staff that closely follows technological developments and has a voice at national and international levels through scientific research in fundamental sciences is among the Department’s Education and Teaching Policies.

Department of Mathematics – International Policy

Becoming internationally recognized and a department preferred by students from around the world is one of our most important policies. In particular, our aim is to ensure and expand student mobility in order to share cultural, social, and learning approaches with students worldwide, especially from Asia and Europe. In addition, facilitating the exchange of faculty members with universities abroad and increasing the visibility and recognition of both our country and Aydın Adnan Menderes University through their international academic activities constitute one of our major efforts as a department. In this context, encouraging international projects, conducting collaborative international projects in different fields, increasing the number of both students and faculty members participating in programs such as Erasmus and the Mevlana Exchange Program, and providing opportunities for undergraduate students to complete internships or for graduate students to spend a semester abroad at partner universities with signed protocols are among our policies.

Department of Mathematics – Research Policy

Within the framework of undergraduate education in the Department of Mathematics, the importance of scientific research is emphasized from the first year onwards in many courses, both theoretically and practically. The aim is to educate research-oriented students who can produce solutions to societal needs, possess an interdisciplinary perspective, and are able to interpret and apply this knowledge. Serving the goal of educating individuals with a high level of awareness who can take part in innovative and pioneering research at national and international levels, the Department supports graduate students through projects and actively engages in R&D activities across different scientific fields.
