Opened in 1992, Adnan Menderes University, Department of Archaeology and Art History was established in 1993. No. 5467 in 2002 with the decision of Council of Higher Education, Department of Archaeology and Art History Department has been divided into a section independently. Since the 2009-2010 academic year the department began to provide an undergraduate education. There would be no masters and doctoral programs. History of Art Department, in its own field of qualified national and international platforms (excavation, research, symposia, etc.) has been cooperating. Also support the work of researchers from the region and abroad continues.
