IMPORTANT Announcement About 4th Year Elective Courses
Dear students,
As you know, 6 4th year departmental elective courses have been opened in our department for the spring semester. In accordance with the Senate decision, taking into account the Covid-19 pandemic conditions, the class environment and course conditions, a maximum number of 4th year departmental elective courses have been tried to be opened in our department.
While determining the course quotas, our department considers that there is a balanced distribution among all elective courses opened within the framework of the above factors. If you cannot register for the elective course(s) that you need to register for due to graduation status or other valid reasons, you should first contact your advisor and explain the situation to him/her and apply to the department chair if he or she directs you.
In addition, if the conditions written below are fulfilled, you can take courses from other departments in our faculty and have them counted as equivalent to an appropriate 4th year departmental elective course in our department.
First of all, the course you will take must be made available to students outside the department by the relevant department. If you can add the relevant course from Obis to your registration, it means that this process has already been done.
Afterwards, you must apply to our department with a petition and clearly state which course you want to take from outside the department to replace which course in our department (click for a sample petition). You can submit your petition to our faculty members in the Department Education Commission, Assc. Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Kalkan (yilmaz.kalkan@adu.edu.tr) or Res. Asst. Dr. Adem Ükte (aukte@adu.edu.tr), directly or via e-mail.
After your application is evaluated by our department's Education Commission and Department Board, it will be accepted or rejected by considering the following criteria.
The ECTS or local credit and content of the course you want to take must be at least 2/3 compatible with the departmental elective course you want to replace.
With this method, equivalence can be made to a maximum of 3 4th year departmental elective courses. In other words, at least 5 4th year departmental elective courses must be selected directly from the courses in the relevant repository of our department.
