Transfer Programs

Vertical Transfer Vertical transfer refers to the process by which a student enrolled in a university moves from an associate degree program to a bachelor’s degree program in the same field. This transfer is carried out through a centralized exam in accordance with the regulations set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) is held to allow associate degree graduates to enroll in undergraduate programs. Students are placed in their preferred programs based on their exam scores. Horizontal Transfer Horizontal transfer allows university students to switch from their current department or program to another department within the same university or to the same department at a different university. This transfer is generally based on academic performance and specific criteria. Applications for horizontal transfer are accepted during certain periods each year and are evaluated based on the student's academic GPA, performance, and available quota. Horizontal transfer provides students with the opportunity to choose a more suitable department and receive education more aligned with their interests and career goals.
