The Department of International Relations was established in 2001 and commenced its academic activities by admitting students in the 2004–2005 academic year. Our department aims to educate individuals who can analytically and critically evaluate political, economic, social, and cultural developments at both global and regional levels, and who are capable of developing solutions based on interdisciplinary scientific methods. Educational activities are conducted within the Department of International Relations through both regular (daytime) and evening programs. In addition to undergraduate education, the department also offers two graduate programs: one master's and one doctoral program. Our graduates assume active roles—particularly in foreign policy and diplomacy—in the public and private sectors, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and academia, and they contribute to global societal welfare with innovative and visionary approaches. The program equips students with a comprehensive understanding of international relations theories and research methods while providing an integrative perspective that includes political science, law, economics, history, and sociology. The analysis of global developments is supported by the use of contemporary technological tools and data analysis programs, as well as critical thinking and effective communication skills. Students acquire the competence to make informed decisions based on ethical values regarding issues such as sustainable development, peace, justice, and social welfare. Providing a strong foundation for postgraduate education and career paths, our program encourages lifelong learning, commitment to universal values, and a sense of social responsibility.

Educational activities conducted within the scope of the program are carried out under the auspices of Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Nazilli. The faculty plays a central role in providing the physical infrastructure required for teaching activities and in creating an environment suitable for achieving the program’s learning outcomes. Located on the Ä°sabeyli Campus in the Nazilli district of Aydın province, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences encompasses a total enclosed area of 20,000 square meters. For the purpose of educational activities, the faculty houses 13 classrooms and 36 lecture halls, as well as 80 offices, 64 of which are allocated to academic staff. In addition, a technology room equipped with 40 computers is available for use by students and academic staff. Within the framework of a protocol signed with Ä°ÅŸ Yatırım Menkul DeÄŸerler A.Åž., one of the existing rooms has been furnished as a modern finance laboratory equipped with advanced technological infrastructure. The faculty also features a conference hall with a seating capacity of 350, suitable for hosting large-scale events. All classrooms and lecture halls throughout the faculty are equipped with projection devices and are utilized on a shared basis among programs. To support the academic work of students and faculty members, the faculty provides a library containing approximately 6,700 printed books and 41 periodicals, which is continuously updated to expand access to information and encourage research activities. For social interaction between classes, a cafeteria and a faculty lounge are available within the faculty building for students and academic staff. Additionally, to promote physical development and healthy lifestyle habits, the faculty hosts various sports facilities and provides dining hall and canteen services. Furthermore, benches and seating areas have been placed throughout the faculty premises to enable users to spend time outdoors. Finally, commercial establishments such as a market, stationery store, and café located directly opposite the faculty offer supplementary services to meet the additional needs of students and staff.
The computer and internet infrastructure within the faculty is designed to provide 24-hour service to academic and administrative staff via desktop or laptop computers available in each office, ensuring uninterrupted access to academic and scientific publications. Students are granted the same access through computer laboratories, which are available during teaching hours. Wireless internet access in private cafés and establishments surrounding the faculty is also heavily utilized by students. All academic and administrative units within the faculty building are supported not only with fixed (wired) internet access but also with seamless and secure wireless internet service through the EDUROAM network.
Aydın Adnan Menderes University possesses a robust information system infrastructure aimed at managing educational processes, academic monitoring, and student support services through digital platforms. A total of 15 information systems are actively used across the university, of which 5 directly support the achievement of program learning outcomes and educational objectives, while 12 contribute indirectly by facilitating the regular management of administrative processes, data security, and technical support. The Student Information System (OBÄ°S), which serves as the primary platform for managing students’ academic processes, allows students to manage their academic careers online. The ADÜZEM (Distance Education Portal), utilized for the conduct of distance education activities, facilitates access to online course content and enables the delivery of common and elective courses independently of location. The ADÜZEM Virtual Meeting System (ADÜ STS) is predominantly used for thesis monitoring and defense processes at the graduate level and enables academic meetings to be conducted securely in an online environment.
