The Program Learning Outcomes have been developed in line with the mission and vision of our department, based on systematic feedback and suggestions obtained from our students, alumni, academics, and representatives of the public and private sectors. The outcomes identified through surveys, meetings, and individual interviews aim to ensure that our students comprehend the theoretical foundations of the discipline of International Relations, develop analytical thinking skills, evaluate current global developments with an interdisciplinary perspective, and become individuals committed to universal ethical values.
Program Learning Outcomes:
1. Understands the main theoretical, historical, and methodological frameworks of the discipline of International Relations and analyzes them through different theoretical approaches.
2. Analyzes world political history and global transformations within a cause-effect relationship and evaluates their impacts on contemporary international relations.
3. Interprets current global developments by assessing the functioning of the international system, its key actors, the principles of international law, and the role of international organizations.
4. Evaluates Turkey’s foreign policy in historical, theoretical, and contemporary contexts, analyzes decision-making processes, and assesses the impact of regional developments.
5. Conducts theoretical and applied analysis in areas such as international security, war, peace, crisis management, and conflict resolution, and develops interpretations based on potential scenarios.
6. Develops an interdisciplinary perspective by conducting analyses in connection with fields such as political science, economics, sociology, and law, and synthesizes data from different disciplines.
7. Examines the historical origins, processes, and outcomes of international conflicts through comparative and theoretical frameworks and proposes solutions.
8. Conducts academic work in accordance with universal ethical values, develops a sense of social responsibility, and acts with sensitivity toward global issues such as human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development.
9. Makes comparative analyses and develops solutions by evaluating international crises, diplomatic negotiations, and global security policies.
10. Evaluates migration movements and policies on global, regional, and national levels, and analyzes migration theories and management practices.
11. Analyzes and interprets global energy policies, energy security, and sustainable energy strategies.
12. Collects and analyzes data using qualitative and quantitative research methods specific to the discipline of International Relations and applies them in academic and professional studies.
