ERASMUS

The Erasmus program is a European Union program to encourage higher education institutions to cooperate with each other and the business world.

It provides financial support for higher education institutions to develop and implement joint projects with each other and to carry out short-term student and staff exchanges. In addition, it also encourages increased relations and cooperation between higher education institutions and the working environment in order to develop the higher education system in line with the needs of the business world and to increase the employability of university graduates in the business world. 

The aim of the program is to improve the quality of higher education in Europe. It seeks to achieve this objective by promoting inter-country cooperation between higher education institutions; ensuring the mobility of students and staff of higher education institutions in Europe; contributing to the development of transparency and academic recognition of studies and degrees obtained in the countries participating in the program by students benefiting from the Erasmus program.

On the other hand, in Europe, which offers higher quality higher education, graduates will be better equipped and more responsive to the expectations of the business world. With the mobility opportunities it offers, the program also serves to break down prejudices in the perception of European peoples in higher education circles.

FARABÄ°

The Student and Faculty Member Exchange Program between Higher Education Institutions, briefly called “Farabi Exchange Program”, is an exchange program for students and faculty members between higher education institutions that provide education at associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels within universities and institutes of high technology.

The Farabi Exchange Program aims for students or faculty members to continue their education and training activities in a higher education institution outside their home institution for one or two semesters.

Students participating in the Farabi Exchange Program receive scholarships and faculty members receive additional course payments.

The principles regarding the implementation of the Farabi Exchange Program are detailed in the Regulation and Principles and Procedures.

MEVLANA

Mevlana Exchange Program is a program that enables the exchange of students and academic staff between higher education institutions in Turkey and higher education institutions abroad. With the Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated August 23, 2011 and numbered 28034, the exchange of students and academic staff between higher education institutions abroad and higher education institutions in our country has been opened.

Unlike other exchange programs, mobility within the exchange program covers higher education institutions all over the world without any geographical distinction.

Students who wish to participate in the exchange program can benefit from the program for a minimum of one semester and a maximum of two semesters of education, while faculty members can benefit from the program for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 3 months to give lectures in higher education institutions around the world. Similarly, students and faculty members from all regions of the world can come to higher education institutions in Turkey.

Participation in the Mevlana Exchange Program

As part of the Mevlana Exchange Program, students enrolled in formal education programs at all higher education institutions in Türkiye (in higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol) can participate in the student exchange.

In addition, all academic staff working at domestic and international higher education institutions that have signed the Mevlana Exchange Program Protocol can also participate in the Mevlana Exchange Program. The academic activities of academic staff within the scope of mobility cannot be less than six hours per week. The hours of activities carried out by the academic staff are calculated based on lessons. If the lesson hours do not exceed six hours per week, academic activities such as seminars, panels or conferences are also evaluated within this scope. Academic staff mobility plans that do not include teaching activities cannot be evaluated within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program and cannot be accepted for exchange.

Mevlana Exchange Program Application Requirements

The basic conditions for becoming a Mevlana Exchange Program student can be grouped under several headings:

• The student must be an associate, undergraduate, master's or doctoral student registered in higher education programs where formal education is provided,
• The general academic grade point average of associate and undergraduate students must be at least 2.5 (two and a half) out of 4 (four),
• The general academic grade point average of master and doctoral students must be at least 3 (three) out of 4 (four).
• 50% language score + 50% GPA

Students studying in the preparatory and first year of associate and undergraduate programs and master and doctoral students in the preparatory and scientific preparation periods cannot benefit from this program for the first semester they start their main education.
