Our world is experiencing a rapid change in social, political and economic fields. In almost all countries, the importance of an ongoing research and inquiry process towards the design of a new society that envisages the improvement of living standards and their sharing on a more equitable basis is increasing. From this perspective, the examination of political and administrative issues on a scientific ground becomes more important, especially for developing countries. It is generally accepted that the state still has an important influence in terms of guiding change in the mentioned rapid change process. In addition, the state and bureaucracy continue to be at the center of discussions on increasing efficiency and productivity in administration.
Public Administration discipline examines the decision and policy-making processes in an administrative system. Discipline is generally thought of as the executive power of states and deals with the organization, management and implementation of public policies with public organizations at the local and national level. Thus, discipline includes program management (planning, decision-making, organizing, managing, implementation and evaluation) and resource management (human resource management and budget).
The aim of the Department of Public Administration is to train managers who have the necessary literary knowledge to adopt modern management understanding and are capable of putting this information into practice, especially in various administrative levels of the public sector, local governments, administrative jurisdictions, domestic and foreign policy, various administrative levels of the private sector and banks. To teach comparative education and research in the fields of politics, administrative sciences, urbanization and environmental problems, local governments, public law, and international politics, in order to gain the formation of public administrators and to perform their duties in the best way, to gain the ability of multi-directional thinking and correct decision making in understanding and solving.
The education and training provided in the Department of Public Administration enables graduates to be employed both in the public sector and in the private sector. Various administrative levels of State Ministries, Inspection Boards, District Governorship, Court of Accounts, State Economic Enterprises and their inspection boards, State Planning Organization, various units affiliated to local governments and similar organizations constitute the leading employment areas for graduates. In addition, the formation provided to graduates allows them to be employed in various management levels of the private sector, as well as banks and the inspection boards of these organizations.
