Logistics, which emerged as a military concept and adapted to business life over time, is among the basic strategies of creating a competitive advantage today. With the developing communication and information technologies, the process of offering the right product, the right amount, in the right conditions, in the right place, at the right time, at the right cost, and for the right customer, has become more important than the past. In addition, the emergence of a large number of financial products in international financial markets brought about the transformation of foreign trade into a complex and specialized business line due to the globalizing economic relations. The program aims to train professionals specialized in current foreign trade transactions and financing procedures.
The importance of the logistics sector has increased as foreign trade reaches significant dimensions within the framework of the globalizing world conditions. The resulting logistics department is an area created by national and international trade volume in an intensely competitive environment. The logistics of a product or service within the scope of the supply chain covers the transportation stages from raw materials to the final consumer.
Logistics applications have gained great importance in today's economic relations and foreign trade. Among the costs of companies, logistics costs have reached great proportions. Due to the fact that this field requires expertise, companies increasingly transfer these activities to logistics companies. For these reasons, expertise in logistics is certainly seen among the trending professions of today and tomorrow.
Our department, which continues its education and research activities under Adnan Menderes University Söke Faculty of Business, was established in 2013; accepted its first students in the 2017-2018 academic year.
