Assessment, Evaluation and Feedback

Objective: Data-driven improvement of educational quality and verification of learning outcomes through quantitative data

Activities:

  • Evaluation of Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) achievement rates

The assessment and evaluation process is based on the Course Contribution Matrix (Table 3.6), where each compulsory course’s contribution level (High / Medium / Low) to relevant PLOs is defined. This matrix must be updated at the beginning of each academic year.

Each course syllabus includes direct assessment tools (project reports, laboratory reports, fieldwork reports, graduation thesis, presentations, assignments) to measure relevant PLOs. These tools generate concrete performance data from student work.

The assessment process operates as follows:

  1. At the end of each semester, course instructors evaluate student work based on direct assessment tools for each PLO.
  2. Achievement levels for each PLO are calculated as percentages (e.g., proportion of students scoring 70 or above).
  3. Data are submitted to the Department Quality Committee.
  4. The committee analyzes data, compares them with target values, and proposes improvements to the Academic Board if necessary.
  5. Decisions are documented and translated into action plans for the following period.

Additional activities:

  • Analysis of student course evaluation surveys
  • Course success rate analysis (grade distributions) and improvement actions for low-performance courses
  • Satisfaction measurement through graduation surveys
  • Statistical reporting of student success, dropout, and graduation rates
