PLANT PROTECTION

Our mission is to address the plant protection problems and possible remedies. Groom the agricultural engineers to equip them with contemporary knowledge and information, sensitive to the environment and human health and having awareness of professional ethics and responsibility. The R&D activities for the plant protection such as use of local, regional, national and global plant protection agents and crop production processes to provide a positive contribution to literature are within our scope.

Our vision is to offer training and high-quality education in the area of modern agriculture, produce environmentally friendly plant protection practices, develop cooperation with national and international scientific community, generate knowledge and technologies from the projects to provide solutions to problems regarding plant protection and train the human resource (agriculture engineers) to lead their role in private and public institutions.

Undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members of the Department of Plant Protection are taking advantage of the FARABİ or ERASMUS programs to go to the abroad universities for a specific period to complete a portion of the educational or scientific work as well as share their knowledge regarding culture

The goals of the Department for Plant Protection are to diagnose the plant pests and control them using plant protection agents, develop new technologies and methods for plant protection, use local, regional, national and global crop production technologies for R&D activities and provide a positive contribution to the literature.

In this context, many projects supported by the TUBITAK, BAP, SPO, Ministry of Agriculture and international private organizations have been completed successfully. The department also provides recommendation services to the growers in the region for the diagnosis and control of pests, diseases and weeds.
