History of Department
Adnan Menderes University Agriculture Faculty was fond in 1987, as a part of Ä°zmir Dokuz Eylül University. In 1992, faculty was linked to Adnan Menderes University. Our department has been continuing education since 1993-1994.
General Introduction
Adnan Menderes University, Agriculture Faculty Crop Science Department is working to give education to our staff and improve their abilities for having a basic knowledge to guide cultivation and breeding of field crops and follow the latest developments and have aim to solve problems which are prior for the region, in cooperation with the relevant sector.
The department of field crops includes four main scientific braches.

3. Medicinal Plants,
4. Pasture and Meadow-Forage Crops
Education practices in field crops, takes place in Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Agriculture Research and Application Farm in its own structure. In 160 hectares out of total 240 hectares of application farm, cultivation of field crops is taking place, having all the technical equipments for cultivation process of the field crops.
Mission
Our mission is, to give education to personnel who have basic information about maintaining field crop farming and tracking developments in our country, and especially solve the problems as cooperate with related sector in our region.
Vision
To be an advance research facility that educate experienced technic personnel who can give different options or analytical solutions for global problems and successful at practical management for crop science.
Objectives of Department
Educate engineers who equipped basic information about crop science, analyze problems and produce scientific solutions, can use advance technology and internalize professional ethics.
The purpose of the program is, to educate Agriculture Engineers at Crop Science and Breeding. At the first term of program, to adapting Basic Science to Agricultural Science, at the second term, assimilation the basic rules of being Agriculture Engineer is targeted. In last two years of program, there is theoretical and practical growing or breeding applications about plants that belongs crop science. Especially closable lessons about maintenance applications related growing and disciplines about plant protection prefer more.
In field crops program, it is important that understanding basic science in first term and understanding basic agriculture engineering knowledge in second term. The third and fourth year lessons in field crops are presented as a practical. In first two years practical lessons that average %25 are realized as %56 in last two years.
The people who complete all necessary requirements for program and probation can take "Agriculture Engineer - Crop Science bachelor's degree"

There are employments for graduates about different government sectors which has agricultural activities (Food, Agriculture, and Livestock) or same sectors called research institutes, different special agriculture business sectors that prefer to work plant seeds and pesticides and universities.
Physical and Technical Infrastructure
Adnan Menderes University Agriculture Faculty is 20 km south of Aydın and located on an area of 240 hectares. Consist of 17 blocks with a covered area of 52.000 m2. Department researches and teaching activities are carried out by using the ADÜ Agriculture Faculties’ farm lands and machine parks. Department sub-structures, Amplifier and Classrooms, Computer Room, Library, Meeting Room, (Projection and computer-aided), Master Room, 2 Laboratories, 2 Greenhouses and 10 offices which can be use by academic personals.
